Married with two teenage boys. Part time veterinarian and part time professional pilot flying both as a flight instructor and a contract pilot in turbo props and small jets I started into Stol competitions with a rans S7 and now I've swapped to a Badlands Traveler. It is a bigger plane, that will fly faster and carry more weight than the smaller rans would and it is still very capable stol machine. One of my favorite things about National Stol is that the competitiveness makes pilots constantly improve their skills and constantly innovate their airplanes. I'm definitely a better pilot for having competed.
